Doll house update

In case anyone was wondering….

Yes. We are working on it. No. It’s not built yet.

It would be nice if I had time to just work on it until it’s finished, but, life keeps interfering. Lol

We do have the sides and most of the trim painted, sanded, and painted again. There are several pieces that we’re just not sure what color they’re supposed to be.

My husband suggested we go ahead and start building, and paint those pieces as we figure out what they are.

This really is fun, although sometimes my patience runs a little thin. Short periods of time working on it with a 5 year old seem to be best. She really loves this project!

I couldn’t believe my nails still looked good as much scrubbing as it took to get the paint off! I really thought I’d have to redo them!

So, today our Dr said my husband has COPD.

I somewhat know what it is, guess is better do some research.

During a conversation today with a new friend, the phrase ‘God never gives you more than you can handle’ was said. I had to disagree with her, and pointed out that I believe God provides the strength you need to get through.

That small part of the conversation keeps going through my mind. So, here I am writing. 😁

She was right – God doesn’t give more than I can handle because all the crap doesn’t come from God! God didn’t make my son fall asleep at the wheel and end up in a wheelchair with a TBI. But, God was there, and my son is still alive and continuing to have improvements even after 6 years!

God isn’t giving my husband increased problems with his breathing and blood pressure. God didn’t give my other adult children the crap problems going on that I don’t want to discuss at this time. God hasn’t caused my water heater to leak, or my water softener to be messing up worse every week or all the problems showing up with my car. (Yes, I’m really starting to feel overwhelmed with all the things breaking down!)

But, God is here. Holding me up and giving me strength to get through each day. (I could use a lot more patience though, God, if you’ve got time for that request. 😉)

God is here, giving me hope that things will improve. The psalm says though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death I shall fear no evil. It doesn’t say set up camp and live there. I am moving on through to the other side!

Keep it real

Go live in a facebook party!  they said.

It’ll be fun!  they said.
Well,  let’s see…..

Only 1 comment during it.

I totally messed up one strip trying to apply.

Munchkin came in ‘to see what I was doing.’ Instead of getting ready for bed, like she was supposed to be doing.

Munchkin came back in to show off the pocket on her pj’s. And left the door open.  As her oldest brother flipped the channel to a stand up comedy show. On satellite…..

Husband flings office door open, starting to yell about youngest son, as I quickly say,  ‘I’M ON LIVE!!!!’
And,  guess what.  I lived through it.  People are now commenting on it.  I’ve even been asked how to invite friend to event,  because she’s been asking about Color Street.
No one is perfect, no household is perfect.  And,  truth be told, people feel connections with real people anyway, so don’t be afraid to let them get glimpses of your ‘real.’
If I can do it,  you can do it! Just try to relax, have fun, and go with the flow! ❤

Big project

‘It’s exactly the one I wanted!!’ She screamed when she opened it.

Poor thing didn’t realize just how big of a project it is to put together.

In all honesty, neither did Mom.

I’m quite overwhelmed by all the pieces,  but, we’re plugging away at it! We have the first coat of paint on all the big pieces, and I’m working on sanding them in my spare moments.

My mom and I built one when I was little. Well,  I helped with the decorating.  I’ve been looking forward to doing this with Munchkin.  Thanks to my Color Street bonus,  we were finally able to get it!

Making memories!

Can’t help but laugh

Middle son and I went Christmas shopping yesterday.  During which time we debated and compared games for Munchkin.  We finally got picked one out.

On our way home,  we stopped and picked up Arby’s. It was late,  I didn’t feel like cooking!

Got home,  Munchkin finished her food,  reached into the happy meal bag for her toy….. And, excitedly pulled out the same game we bought.

Getting ready for Christmas!

I love decorating!!!

Actually,  I don’t really like all the work.  It’s a pain in the booty!

But, I do love the way my house looks when it’s finished!

We’re almost finished! Just have a few wall hangings and finishing touches left.

Oh, and need to finish packing and storing Halloween decorations that are stashed in a corner! I keep forgetting about that corner….

Busy, busy!

Munchkin is really catching on with her reading lessons! She’s loving it, and even asks to do them on weekends! Now, if she would just catch on to counting- whenever she can’t remember the next number she says, ’18!!’

Businesses are going well,  especially Color Street – Wow!!!!! ( of you’re curious! ha ha)

A total jerk punched my middle son in the face last week,  completely breaking his jaw.  Not just fracture, it’s separated! Now he needs surgery, but, since he doesn’t have insurance OU med told him to call to schedule when he has a couple thousand dollars.  Yes, I’m very stressed and angry.

Yes, this is his break. And he was sent home.  He lost his job and therefore his insurance last spring, we can’t get him back on ours until reenrollment.

Our pup is very sick

It’s been a very rough week.  Our 1 year old papillon has been horribly sick, hasn’t been able to keep her blood sugar levels up.  We’ve rushed her to local vet twice, and the last time, they had us take her to specialist 2 1/2 hours away.

She’s got a liver disease, and we’re praying the special diet she’s been put on takes care of it.
